I had a dream few days ago, that I was standing in a big long tower, in one of the highest floors and a strong earthquake happened; that not only shook the whole building but the tower was tossing back and forth.
However, I wasn't moved a bit - ( if I were to describe a verse to fit my feeling at this specific moment: I was in Psalm 46:10, being STILL, knowing who is My God!)
I was standing firm. I was terrified by what I was seeing in the people around me. In my heart, I had a fear that was not mine.
When I search in the Word of God about the meaning of earthquake, to help me understand this dream, as I felt compelled to search for the message behind it. I found that the bible uses earthquakes as symbols of God's power displays of His presence to accompany revelation and to execute judgement.
Reading through this topic, I understood that I was feeling the dread of God's judgement. The people who rejected Him, the ones who ignored His grace and mercy. Those who decided to follow their own desires and who have forsaken the fountain of living water and dug for themselves cracked cisterns that can hold no water at all! - Jeremiah 2:13. Those who are relying on their own righteousness and good deeds.
God is light and in Him there is NO darkness at ALL. He always wants to make Himself known to every heart.
He wants to display His power of greatness. His grace, His power of love, of mercy, of forgiveness, of redemption...
The earthquake shows both The Power of God and His terror. In His presence, you can be terrified or you can fear Him, worship Him and adore Him.
God has so much patience with us, whether we are born-again or non-believers. God is so good and He is love Itself - but God CANNOT be mocked.
God sent His only son to save us, to redeem us, to bring us back to His heart and to give us eternal life. When Jesus died on the cross, the whole earth trembled! The whole earth...
God doesn't always display His power in a spectacular way. Yes, He is the God who answers by fire but He is the same God who's sound gentle stillness.
Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts. Hebrews 3:15
He can speak gently to your heart calling you for repentance so He can restore you that you may serve Him. Jeremiah 15:19
He gives you the choice, to live " FREEDOM". But you choose whether you want to live a freedom from this dreadful day, and from sin or live a freedom to sin that will drive you to a complete blindness of this coming terrible earthquake.
When His word says that only by His look on the earth, it trembles. Imagine then standing before Him on that day! Psalm 104:32
Standing in this tower in the midst of this earthquake, I can trust my God and My Father. I stand still and firm in His Word. He reigns!
Get up. today, He is calling you! For God does NOT want anyone to perish but everyone come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9.
